GENERAL INFORMATION

The tennis program at North Saint John’s Swim & Tennis Club has opportunities for all interested players, regardless of age or ability. The club includes 4 courts (courts #1 & #2-lower and courts #3 & 4-upper), a Spinfire ball machine and pickleball court lines painted on court #4.  The Spinfire ball machine, leaf blower, and broom are stored in the shed on court #1 for member use.

Tennis at NSJ includes instructional, social and competitive play from private and group lessons and clinics, to social events. Our Tennis Pro, Dave Gardner, provides all of the instructional lessons and clinics on court #3.

The courts are available year-round so codes to the tennis/front gates during the offseason or during the season when the pool is closed are required.  You may request the gate/shed codes by emailing our Tennis Directors, Natalie Kelly (natalie.alverson.kelly@gmail.com) or Missy Toth (tothjakm@verizon.net

COURT RESERVATIONS

There are often tennis activities such as clinics, lessons, and yoga occurring on the courts at NSJ.  To honor your time and that of your family we have a TENNIS COURT RESERVATION SCHEDULE available for the season so you can view court availability.  Please sign up to reserve a tennis/pickleball time this season.

TENNIS LESSONS/CLINICS

David Gardner, our resident Tennis Pro, provides adult and youth lessons/clinics on court #3 all season.  To book lessons/clinics with David please contact him by email (davegardnertennis@gmail.com), phone (410.782.9430), or visit Dave Gardner Tennis Academy.

ADULT TENNIS EVENTS

Adult Clinic:

Want to learn how to play tennis?  Need a refresher on basic skills?  Dave Gardner offers an adult clinic on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM on court #3.

Drop-in Tennis:

Drop-in tennis occurs weekly on courts 1 & 2 on Tuesday (MEN) and Wednesday (WOMEN) evenings at 6:30 PM. Please complete the DROP-IN TENNIS INTEREST SURVEY if you wish to be added to the weekly email list. This event will begin in mid-May as weather permits.

PICKLEBALL

Pickleball racquets and balls are in the storage chest on court #4 where official lines were painted in 2020.  The height of the net is too high for pickleball so move the white center strap to the side to lower it, but remember to move it back when play has ended.

TENNIS REMINDERS

In order to enjoy a clean, safe environment, please dispose of all drinks and tennis ball containers, gum, etc. in the receptacles provided on the courts.  In addition we have provided NEW rollers on the courts to remove puddles which must be hung on the fence so that they may dry out. Thank you!
